Use of personal data collected

Comments

When you leave a comment on our website, the data entered in the comments form as well as your IP address and your browser’s user-agent are collected to help us to detect inappropriate comments.

A blockchain created from your e-mail address (also called hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify whether you are using the latter. The confidentiality clauses of the Gravatar service are available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After validating your comment, your profile photo will be publicly visible next to your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user and you upload images on the website, we advise you not to upload images containing EXIF data from GPS coordinates. Visitors to our website can download and extract localisation data from these images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you will be asked to register your name, e-mail address and website in the cookies. It is solely for your convenience so that we do not have to enter this information if you subsequently leave a comment. These cookies expire at the end of a year.

If you have an account and you connect to this site, a temporary cookie will be created in order to determine whether your browser accepts the cookies. It does not contain personal data and will be deleted automatically when your browser closes.

When you connect, we will install a certain number of cookies to register your login details and your viewing preferences. The lifespan of a login cookie is two days, that of a screen option cookie is one year. If you tick “Remember me”, your login cookie will be stored for two weeks. If you disconnect from your account, the login cookie will be deleted.

By changing or making a publication, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data. It simply indicates the publication ID that you have just changed. It expires at the end of a day.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles from this site may include integrated content (for example videos, images, articles, etc.). The integrated content from other sites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had gone to this other site.

These websites could collect data on you, use cookies, embed third party tracking tools and follow your interactions with this embedded content if you have an account connected to their website.

Storage periods of your data

Storage periods of your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This enables the recognition and automatic approval of subsequent comments instead of leaving them in the moderation file.

For users who register on our site (if that is possible), we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All users can see, change or delete their personal information at any time (apart from their user name). The site managers can also see and change this information.

Your rights to your data

If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you can ask to receive a file containing all the personal data that we have on you, including the data that we have provided to you. You can also request the deletion of the personal data that concern you. This does not include the data that are stored for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Transmission of your personal data

Visitors’ comments can be verified using an automated service that detects inappropriate comments.
