Dear Affiliates,

A Pension Fund is not only a social insurance, but also a service, a support, professional contacts for our affiliates and the promise to the Foundation’s policy holders that above and beyond their professional life, there is life itself and we are there beside them all the way, in good times as in more difficult circumstances.

At the time of writing this editorial, it is difficult to ignore the situation we have been living in since the beginning of 2020. Even before the notion of confinement was raised by our authorities, we already had in place a whole series of operational measures for our approach to risk management. Even if it was difficult for us to imagine that we would have to put them into practice one day, it has now been done. They concern work organization and favour teleworking for our teams in Geneva and Lausanne. These arrangements allow us to guarantee the quality and the continuity of our activities. All our managers are 100% at your disposal to answer any questions you might have.

To go back to 2019, several elements deserve to be highlighted – and have contributed to the resilience shown during the first months of de 2020. These are essentially the strong increase in the number of persons involved (affiliates + 21%, policy holders + 32%), the decrease in the proportion of pension beneficiaries (going from 8.6% to 7.6%), the strong financial performance (+ 11.16%) and the significant increase in the value fluctuation reserve (+ 90.4 mios) which has resulted in a degree of coverage of 107.7%. To that may be added the implementation of a new management structure and a strengthening of the management and the Foundation’s governance.

Prudence and team spirit are, as in previous years, the hallmark of our approach.

In these complicated times for companies and, of course, their employees, dialogue is more necessary than ever. We are here for you!

Review of an exceptional year 2019 !

Undoubtably, 2019 was an exceptional year for our Foundation! Of course, 35 years of activity and over 1 billion in assets under our management are without a doubt two key factors. However, what is important to us above all is to do everything possible to bring us closer to you. Through the dynamism of our employees we have been able to bring numerous projects to fruition:

> We opened a subsidiary in the heart of Lausanne

> Our new Internet site went on-line

> Live Web was made available to our policy holders

> The creation of a continued education Academy for our partners – affiliated companies
and brokers.

Therefore, we are delighted to have simplified many things thanks to our new Internet site. And at the same time we are delighted to meet our partners face to face, to be able to train them once the sanitary situation allows, and to be able to help them to provide efficient and favourable solutions to the persons insured.


The
3rd contributor has playes its part

With a net annual investment performance at 11.16%, the strategic allocation put in place by the Foundation’s Board, took advantage of the good year on the financial markets. This allocation, which was prudent, has meant that we suffered no great downturns in a year 2020 that was complicated to say the least.

Interest at 2,5% in 2019

The Foundation’s Board has decided to attribute an interest rate of 2.50% to all the savings capital of active policy holders in 2019. This rate is 1.50% over the minimum LPP rate of interest (1.00%) set by the Federal Council.

It is very important to note that Patrimonia does not apply splitting, therefore this rate applies to the entire pension fund capital.

Growth continues

Patrimonia’s pension fund model, combining sound management with transparent organisation and total independence, attracts companies that are searching for a local solution and the flexibility of a made to measure approach. Growth has continued now for many years and here the proof of our good health can be seen in the figures.

Annual durability report: 1st edition

Modification of the conversion rate at horizon 2022

In the face of new challenges, particularly in the areas of life expectancy and financial management performance, the Patrimonia Foundation Board decided during their meeting on 18 December 2019, to continue to lower the conversion rates from 6.5% to 6.3%, incrementally between 2020 and 2022. However, the retirement benefits, within the Foundation remain applicable to the mandatory and extra-mandatory portion of the capital.

Give preference to information transmission via our web portal

Thanks to our secure on-line “WEB Portal”, you have direct access to all your data, as well as a wide range of on-line services.

It is possible, in this manner, to access simulations, fill out documents and transmit mutation orders (entries, departures, salary changes and rate of employment, etc.) at all times from your workstation.

On their side, our broker partners have the possibility to perform simulations for new entries on the amounts available and to evaluate their impact in terms of repurchases, homeownership incentives and early retirement. Other services are also available, such as printing personalised documents in a list format, the simple and secure exchange of files, or the electronic management of documents (contracts, plans, management committee and invoicing, etc.).

Patrimonia’s asministrative adress

Lausanne has become the administrative address for the Foundation Patrimonia! As you know, 2019 was a historic year for Patrimonia, with the celebration of its 35th anniversary and the opening of a subsidiary in the centre of Lausanne.
