Vested benefit

Transfer to the new fund
When an insured person leaves Patrimonia for a reason other than disability, death or retirement, he is entitled to a vested benefit that is equivalent to the entire retirement savings accrued by the insured person.

If the departure of the insured person is due to a change of job, he must inform the Patrimonia Foundation of his new employment situation using a form. If the insured person is not employed, the leaving benefit is transferred to a frozen vested benefits account at a financial institution of his choice (bank, insurance company).

In both cases, the Foundation is responsible for making the transfer to the new pension fund or to the vested benefits account as soon as possible. Under certain circumstances, notably in the event of relocation to a country outside the European Union or when the insured person sets up his own business, he may request the payment of his benefit in cash.

If the Foundation does not receive any information regarding the transfer of the leaving benefit within six months after the leaving date, the Foundation will automatically transfer the benefit to the Substitute Pension Fund.

You will find an explanatory note here.

Transfer to the Patrimonia Foundation
If the insured person has just been hired by an employer affiliated to Patrimonia, he must duly inform his previous pension fund to enable the latter to transfer his vested benefit to the Patrimonia Foundation. A form is provided for this purpose.

For persons who settle/have settled in a member state of the European Union: payment of the entire retirement savings is no longer possible for persons who reside in a member state of the European Union, only the part that exceeds the minimum LOB (supplementary part) may be paid. The balance of the assets (LOB minimum part) must be transferred to a vested benefits account. The majority of Swiss banks offer vested benefits accounts.
